Cessna 185-F

A few days before on a particular charter that began at RSL , flew empty 125 miles East to Pierce Lake,Ontario ,and loaded 30 bags of white fish weighing 1550 lbs; calm water took 2 take-off runs to burn off fuel before getting airborne ,flew 160 miles west to Savage Island fish plant , unloaded & returned to RSL (3.6 hrs flight time . My take off load put the a/c 650lbs over GROSS Weight !!! 29 September 1977

The aircraft is basically a Cessna 180 with a strengthened fuselage. The main difference between the two aircraft is the larger vertical fin on the 185 and the 300 hp (224 kW) Continental IO-520-D engine as opposed to the 230 hp (172 kW) Continental O-470-S fitted to the Cessna 180.
